Basic working principle
Receive data packets: First receive data packets from connected devices.

Forward data packets: Forward data packets to the correct destination port according to the MAC address.
Type
Layer 2 switch: Works at the data link layer, only recognizes MAC addresses, and is mainly used to connect devices in LANs.
Layer 3 switch: Works at the network layer, not only recognizes MAC addresses, but also recognizes IP addresses, and can connect network devices in different network segments.
