What Is PoF?
PoF, or Power over Fiber, is a technology that uses optical fiber to transmit both data and power. In a PoF network, electrical power is converted into optical energy at the transmitting end, carried through specialized fiber, and converted back into electrical energy at the receiving end to power remote devices.
For network projects, PoF helps reduce the need for separate power cables near terminal equipment. It is especially useful in all-optical access networks where ONU terminals, ceiling APs, or other remote devices need both data connection and power supply.
