The SFP-style design allows the XPON Stick to be inserted into compatible SFP slots on switches, routers, network cards, MDU devices, and other fiber access equipment.
This compact structure helps save installation space and simplifies deployment in environments where a separate ONU enclosure is not convenient. In compatible host devices, the XPON Stick can receive power through the SFP interface without requiring an additional local power adapter.
The host equipment must support the required SFP power supply, optical interface, management functions, and ONU operating mode before installation.
The XPON Stick supports GPON downstream/upstream line rates of up to 2.5 Gbps/1.25 Gbps. In EPON mode, it supports upstream and downstream line rates of up to 1.25 Gbps.
The device supports 1490 nm downstream and 1310 nm upstream wavelengths. Its transmission distance can reach up to 20 km under suitable optical conditions.
The actual distance depends on the OLT, optical power, splitter loss, fiber route, connector loss, ONU sensitivity, and total optical budget. It can be used with different GPON OLT and EPON OLT according to the network design.
The XPON Stick supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring through an interface compatible with SFF-8472.
DDM can provide optical status and diagnostic information when both the XPON Stick and the host device support the corresponding monitoring functions. This allows technicians to review optical conditions during installation and maintenance.
The device also supports VLAN configuration, VLAN transport transmission, VLAN switching, routed WAN connections, data encryption, and software online upgrades according to the selected configuration.
The compact XPON Stick can be used for home network upgrades, small and medium-sized enterprise access, smart home and IoT networks, remote locations with difficult cabling, and temporary network access.
Its small size is suitable for equipment rooms, office networks, field sites, and other locations where space and installation flexibility are important.
For applications that require integrated wireless access, buyers can also review HSGQ’s WiFi 6 ONU products.
