At present, MPO jumper is widely used in high-speed and high-density data center cabling, and its quality determines the stability and sustainability of the entire data center network. What factors should we consider when selecting MPO jumper? Here is a guide to the selection of MPO jumper.
1. Select the jumper with small insertion loss. Insertion loss is one of the key factors affecting the performance of optical fiber network. The smaller the insertion loss, the better the transmission performance. Generally, the insertion loss of MTP/MPO multimode optical fiber jumper shall not exceed 0.6 dB, and the insertion loss of single-mode MTP/MPO optical fiber jumper shall not exceed 0.75 dB. For single-mode and multi-mode MTP/MPO fiber jumpers with low insertion loss (high quality), the insertion loss is generally required to be no more than 0.35 dB. When we choose MTP/MPO jumper, we can choose the supplier that provides insertion loss test report.
2. The jacket of MTP/MPO jumper can be made of different materials with different fire resistance, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), low smoke zero halogen resistance (LSZH), etc., most of which have good flame retardancy. If there are higher requirements for the installation environment, such as suspended ceiling and elevated floor, it is better to choose MTP/MPO optical fiber jumper with higher flame retardant grade, so that it is not easy to burn or smoke in case of fire. When purchasing MTP/MPO optical fiber jumper, you can directly check its flame retardant grade on the protective jacket, and then select the appropriate MTP/MPO optical fiber jumper according to the actual application environment of the protective jacket and flame retardant grade of the optical fiber jumper.
In order to ensure that the optical fiber connector has qualified or higher performance, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has formulated the IEC 61,300-3-35 standard to define whether the connector end face is qualified. The end face of MTP/MPO jumper connector is divided into four areas: fiber core area, cladding area, rubber edge area and core surface. It has requirements for scratches and flaws connecting each area of the interior. Scratches represent permanent linear surface features. Defects include all detectable nonlinear features on the optical fiber, including particles, other debris, pits, debris, edge fragmentation, etc. The cleaner the end face, the better the signal quality of the jumper transmission. Therefore, if you need to purchase MTP/MPO fiber optic cords of high quality, choose us.
