The application of optical fiber jumper is more and more extensive, and it is often used in communication machine rooms, local area networks, cable TV, and light to home systems. However, it is relatively fragile, so you need to be careful when wiring. How should the optical fiber jumper be connected? And what are the precautions during use?

The optical fiber jumper connects two optical fiber devices. The jumper has many connector types, such as ST-ST, ST-LC, LC-LC, ST-SC, etc. The model depends on whether your optical fiber device interface is ST or LC. The optical fiber jumper can generally be connected to the optical splitter or optical distribution frame, and then connected to the optical transceiver, which can convert the optical signal into the electrical signal we usually use.

Optical fiber jumper is used to connect network equipment at both ends. Generally, ST connector jumper is used to connect optical fiber box; LC/SC connector jumper is connected to the optical module of the switch; SC connector jumper is connected to optical transceiver; FC connector jumper is used to connect optical transceiver and ODF rack. In general, the optical fiber of the telecommunications office to the enterprise is first used to send multimode optical fiber to the enterprise host room, then to the optical transceiver, which is converted into RJ45 signals into the enterprise firewall, and then to CORE, which is converted into optical fiber through optical transceiver and optical fiber jumper, and then transmitted to each extension room through the internal optical fiber of the enterprise.

We take the optical module connecting the switches at both ends as an example. The general optical module interfaces are LC, SC, MPO, and the most common is the duplex LC interface jumper. When connecting optical modules at both ends, the duplex LC jumper interface has A end and B end. When connecting, the A end needs to be connected to the B end, and the B end needs to be connected to the A end.
