A fiber connection can still produce weak Wi-Fi, inactive voice service, or disappointing speeds when the ONU/ONT is incompatible, poorly placed, or incorrectly configured.
Fiber can carry high-speed data to a ceiling AP or remote ONU, yet the device still needs reliable power. That gap can require separate outlets or copper runs where installation is difficult.
ONU/ONT
ONU/ONT is a user-side device in the passive optical network PON, which is used to receive optical signals from OLT and convert them into electrical signals, and provide users with various service interfaces, such as Ethernet, voice, video, etc. XPON ONU/ONT is a key device for FTTH, which can provide high-bandwidth, high-reliability broadband, voice, video and other services for home users.
WiFi XPON ONU is able to provide fast and stable Internet speed. By leveraging fiber optic technology, ONU can easily support high-bandwidth applications such as video streaming, online gaming, and large file downloads.
On the one hand, standalone ONU units are typically connected to separate routers or network switches to distribute Internet connectivity to multiple devices within the premises.
