The 40G QSFP+optical module is a four channel small pluggable optical module with a transmission rate of 40Gbps. The interface of 40G LR4 PSM optical module is MPO/MTP. Parallel Single Mode (PSM) is adopted. The MPO/MTP interface designed in four parallel ways is used. The transmission distance is 10km. It has the characteristics of high port density and low cost.
The 40G QSFP+ER4 optical module, like the 40G QSFP+LR4 optical module, is used together with LC single-mode fiber. The difference is that the 40G QSFP+ER4 optical module converts four input channels of 10G data into four CWDM optical signal channels, with the rate of each channel as high as 11.2 Gbps, and multiplexes them into a single channel for 40G optical transmission, which is mainly used for 40GBASE-ER4 Ethernet links, Infiniband QDR and DDR interconnects, and 40G telecom connections of clients.
