What is OLT GPON？

When building a modern fiber optic network, especially when implementing a FTTH network, the choice of OLT as a core device is crucial. GPON OLT is widely used due to its high bandwidth and high efficiency. GPON OLT is the core device in the GPON network. It is located at the central office and is used to connect to the fiber optic backbone network. It connects multiple ONU or ONT through passive optical splitters to achieve the aggregation and management of data, voice, video and other services.

GPON OLT Features

• Uplink interface: Provide multiple Gigabit Ethernet or 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GE/SFP+) optical/electrical uplink interfaces for connecting to the upper network. Some high-end models may provide higher-speed uplink interfaces.

• Management interface: Provide out-of-band management interfaces (such as Console port, ETH management port) for device configuration and management. Support multiple management methods, such as CLI, Web interface, SNMP, etc.

• Power supply: Support single power supply or dual power supply redundant backup to improve equipment reliability. Provide AC or DC power supply options to adapt to different equipment room environments.

• Size: 1U or compact box design, easy to install in a standard cabinet.

• Environmental adaptability: The operating temperature, humidity and other indicators meet the requirements of telecommunications-grade equipment.

There are obvious differences between 4-port and 8-port GPON OLT in terms of port density, user capacity, cost-effectiveness, and applicable scenarios.
