After the finished Optical module is manufactured, a complete set of test procedures must be carried out. All steps in this process must be carried out, and all parameters must meet the requirements to ensure that no quality problems will occur when the Optical module is sold. The following is the complete process of the test after the Optical module is made.

① Luminescence and receiving test

The output optical power is an important parameter that can determine the transmission distance and quality of the Optical module, too high or too low is not good; Receiving sensitivity can determine the sensitivity of Optical module to receive light. Generally, the higher the speed of Optical module is, the worse the receiving sensitivity is;

② Eye map and extinction ratio test

The shape of an eye diagram is similar to that of an eye, which is the result of an oscilloscope collecting and overlaying digital signals multiple times, and can intuitively reflect whether the measured signal is lost or not, and whether the signal transmission is good; Extinction ratio is one of the parameters used to measure the quality of Optical module. The larger the extinction ratio, the stronger the optical signal can be received and distinguished, and the higher the reception sensitivity. The extinction ratio is inversely proportional to the optical power, and during the testing process, it can be found that the higher the extinction ratio, the lower the emitted optical power;

③ High and low temperature aging test

The operating temperature of the Optical module varies with the application environment. Before leaving the factory, the Optical module must undergo high and low temperature aging tests in the aging chamber to verify whether the performance indicators of the Optical module can meet the standard in the extreme environment;

④ Compatibility connectivity testing

Insert the Optical module into the switch of the corresponding brand for detection and connectivity test. If it can be connected, it means that the Optical module is compatible and the Optical module can communicate. If connectivity is not possible, further testing is required;

⑤ End face cleaning

In various testing links of the Optical module, it is inevitable that some dirt and scratches will appear. It needs to be observed through a microscope. If there is no problem, it can be packaged and shipped. If there is a problem, it needs to be handled.
