Many people do not know the differences between SFP+and SFP, XFP, so sometimes they bring unnecessary trouble. The 10G module has gone through the development of 300pin, XenPak, X2, and XFP, and finally realized the signal of 10G with the same size as SFP. This is SFP+. With its advantages such as miniaturization and low cost, SFP+meets the demand for the high density of the equipment for the light module. At present, it has gradually replaced the XFP to become the mainstream of the 10G market.

SFP packaging --- hot insertion small packaging module, currently the maximum speed can reach 4G, mostly the LC interface.

SFP+packaging --- standard packaging, the working rate is 10g, which can meet the application of 10G of the Ethernet.

XFP packaging --- a standardized packaging of serial 10G optical transceiver module.

SFP+light module advantages:

1. SFP+has a more compact shape size than X2 and XFP packaging (the same size as SFP);

2. You can connect directly with XFP, X2, XenPak of the same type;

3. The cost is lower than XFP, X2, XenPak products.

The difference between SFP and SFP+:

1. SFP and SFP+ appearance size;

2. The maximum rate of SFP can reach 4G, and the rate of SFP+is 10G;

3. SFP protocol specifications: IEEE802.3, SFF-8472;

4. SFP+support digital diagnosis.
