Before talking about flame retardant grade, you can first understand LSZH (low smoke halogen free), as early as in the mid-1980s, halogen containing (especially bromine) flame retardant polymer system because of its outstanding flame retardant effect, is widely used in the wire and cable industry, among which, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is one of the good examples, But PVC has a disadvantage is when burning will release a large amount of smoke, and will produce serious corrosive gas and toxic gas.

Therefore, cables are now made of low smoke and halogen free materials. LSZH (low smoke halogen free) material has some obvious advantages is low smoke, low toxicity, low corrosion, high flame retardant.

OFNP IS the highest grade of optical cable, in the use of the fan forced to blow to the flame, the cable will be extinguished within 5 meters of the flame spread, at the same time, the cable will not release toxic smoke or steam, in the communication wiring application is usually installed in the ventilation pipe or air treatment equipment used in the air reflux pressurization system.

OFNR is the second highest rated cable. Under the condition of forced fan blowing, the cable must be extinguished within 5 meters of the flame spread, which is commonly encountered in trunk line fires, so this type of fire rating is usually used in building trunk lines and horizontal cables.

Optical fibers are classified into the following types according to the UL1651 standard:

1, OFNP,OFCP: P class non-conductive type and conductive type;

2, OFNR,OFCR: R class non-conductive type and conductive type;

3,OFN,OFNG: non-conductive fiber for general use;

4,OFC,OFCG: general purpose conductive fiber;
