Direct Attach Cable (DAC for short) is generally translated as direct connection cable/high-speed cable, passive copper core cable, etc. 40G QSFP+DAC cable has fixed QSFP+modules at both ends.

The 40G QSFP+DAC stack cable can be divided into 40G QSFP+to QSFP+cable and 40G QSFP+to 4 * SFP+cable. Both ends of the 40G QSFP+to QSFP+cable are 40G QSFP+modules, while one end of the 40G QSFP+to 4 * SFP+cable is a 40G QSFP+module, and the other end is four SFP+modules.

The 40G QSFP+to QSFP+stacking cable is mainly used for stacking connection of two 40G switch ports, while the 40G QSFP+to 4 * SFP+stacking cable is used for stacking connection of 40G QSFP+ports and 10G SFP+ports of the switch.

40G QSFP+DAC stack cable is characterized by low power consumption, high transmission stability, good confidentiality, anti-interference, large communication capacity, and good heat dissipation. Because the cost of 40G QSFP+DAC cable in the application of short distance transmission is relatively low, it is widely used in the data center TOR cabling.
