EPON OLT Module (EPON PX20+++)

Fiber optics can be divided into two types: single mode (conducting long wavelength lasers) and multimode (conducting short wavelength lasers) based on the differences in light waves that can be transmitted internally. The connection distance of single mode optical cables can reach 10 kilometers, while the connection distance of multimode optical cables is much shorter, which is 300 meters or 500 meters (mainly depending on the difference in laser, there are generally two types of light sources that generate short wavelength laser, one is 62.5 meters and the other is 50 meters).

Fiber optic cables are divided into SC interfaces and LC interfaces based on the differences in the joint part of the optical cable. The SC interface is a 1GB interface, the (SC=smartcard) LC interface is a 2GB interface, and the (LC=LucentConnector).

Judging single and multi mode optical ports

1. By marking the center wavelength. The central wavelength of 850nm is multimode, while 1310nm or 1550nm is single mode.

2. Activate the transmitting end of the optical port, and Quick Look whether there is red light emitting from the transmitting end. If there is red light emitting from the transmitting end, it is a multimode port, otherwise it is a single-mode port.

Fiber optic classification

Single mode fiber and multimode fiber. The inner core diameter of single mode fiber is smaller than that of multimode fiber.

There are two types of high refractive index glass core diameters for multimode optical fibers: 62.5 μ M and 50 μ M.

There are three types of high refractive index glass core diameters for single mode optical fibers: 8 μ m. 9 μ M and 10 μ M. Under the same conditions, the smaller the fiber diameter, the smaller the attenuation, and the farther the transmission distance.
