In this article, ETU-LINK describes the specifications of a 100G optical module. A 100G optical module refers to an optical module with a transmission rate of 100G. The encapsulation type of a 100G optical module is QSFP28, and it is mainly applied to 100G QSFP28 Ethernet switch/router ports or optical fiber NIC ports. The transmission distance of the 100G optical module is 100 meters, 2 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 40 kilometers. For details about the product parameters, see the following table.

The ETU-LINK 100G optical module can be used for Huawei CloudEngine 12800 series switches and Cisco Nexus 9000 series switches, Ruijie RG-N18000-X(Newton Newton) series switches, RG-S6510 series data center and cloud computing switches.

The 100G optical module helps upgrade the internal network of the data center. You can use the 100G SR4 optical module with MPO-LC multi-mode OM3 fiber jumper to connect to the 25G SFP28 optical module or directly connect to the 100G switch port. If switches in adjacent data centers are interconnected, use an optical module such as 100 Gbit/s LR4 or 100 Gbit/s ER4 for long-distance transmission.
