We will introduce how to connect the server to Huawei CE5800 switch and related networking methods. First of all, before connecting the server to the switch, you need to install the server network card on the server. At present, the network card interface type of the server is CPIE. Generally, the server network card can support the transmission rate of 1G/10G/25G/40G/100G, and the server network card has the active/standby mode and the load sharing mode.
Huawei CE5800 switch is a gigabit access switch. The downlink port supports 1G and 10G transmission rates, and the uplink port supports 40G transmission rates. The optical port types of the whole machine include SFP, SFP+, and QSFP. Therefore, the server must be equipped with a 1G/10G network card before it can be connected to the CE5800 switch with optical modules, jumpers or cables.
There are three networking modes of switches: stack, M-LAG and single machine. However, in order to make the network more reliable, M-LAG networking mode is taken as an example. Assuming that there are two CE5800 switches A and B and one server, the following will explain how to configure the interconnection between the switch and the server.
1. Configuration instruction of network card in active/standby mode (M-LAG)
[~SwitchA/B] interface 10ge 1/0/1
[*SwitchA/B-10GE1/0/1] stp edged-port enable
[*SwitchA/B-10GE1/0/1] commit
2. Configuration instruction of network card in load sharing mode (M-LAG)
Configure SwitchA/B, and add the switch interface 10GE1/0/1 to the eth trunk.
[~SwitchA/B] interface eth-trunk 1
[*SwitchA/B-Eth-Trunk1] trunkport 10ge 1/0/1
[*SwitchA/B-Eth-Trunk1] mode lacp-static
[*SwitchA/B-Eth-Trunk1] dfs-group 1 m-lag 1
[*SwitchA/B-Eth-Trunk1] stp edged-port enable
[*SwitchA/B-Eth-Trunk1] commit
