The main difference is that the 200G QSFP-DD PSM8 adopts an 8-way 1310nm single-mode optical fiber parallel scheme, and the transmission distance can reach 10km; The 200G QSFP-DD SR8 adopts a multi-mode optical fiber parallel scheme, and the transmission distance on the OM4 optical fiber link can reach 100m.

The SFP-DD small automatic pluggable double density packaged optical module doubles the bandwidth (25G/50G) of the SFP28 or SFP56. It supports a higher rate (50G/100G) while maintaining backward compatibility of the SFP28 or SFP56. The QSFP-DD four channel small pluggable double density packaged optical module, defined by the QSFP-DD MSA group, doubles the density of QSFP28 or QSFP56. It has eight channels, and the rate per channel is up to 25G or 50G. Therefore, it supports 200G or 400G optical transmission.
