In the 5G network architecture, the forward optical module is upgraded from 10G to 25G. This article will introduce the application of 25G SFP28 optical module in 5G pretransmission.
1. 25G SFP28 dual-fiber gray optical module
25G typical dual-fiber gray optical module supports transmission distances of 300 meters and 10 kilometers. 25G SFP28 300 meters multi-mode optical module is mainly used for interconnection under base station towers. The 25G SFP28 10km single-mode optical module is mainly used to directly connect the AUU with the access equipment room (site) where the distance between the station is long or the link loss is high. 25G multi-mode optical module has a central wavelength of 850nm, duplex LC interface, multi-mode, operating temperature from 0°C to 70°C, transmitting optical power from -8.4 to +2.4dBm, and can be transmitted to 100 meters using OM4 multi-mode optical fiber.
25G SFP28 10km single-mode optical module with center wavelength of 1310nm, duplex LC interface, single-mode, supporting commercial (0°C to 70°C) and industrial (-45°C to 85°C) operating temperature range, transmit optical power of -7 to +3dBm, with single-mode OS2 optical fiber transmission distance of up to 10km.
2. 25G SFP28 BIDI single-fiber gray optical module
The BIDI optical module has the advantages of saving optical fiber resources and high precision time synchronization. It can support transmission distances of 10 km, 15 km, and 20 km. The transmitter of 25G BIDI optical module adopts the uncooled DFB TO form with the center wavelength of 1270nm/1330nm respectively, and the receiver adopts the high-sensitivity 25G PIN TO form with the receiving wavelength of 1330nm/1270nm respectively. The product adopts the mature coaxial packaging technology platform of optical devices, realizing single-fiber bidirectional, and the optical port rate is 25.78Gbps.
3. 25G SFP28 CWDM color optical module
In the early stage of 5G network construction, the forward transmission is mainly based on optical fiber direct drive. With the deep coverage of high-frequency networking and low-frequency point increase, CWDM optical module will be a useful supplement to make full use of the existing optical fiber resources.
The 25G SFP28 CWDM uses either a 1270nm-1370nm (20nm interval) CWDM DML laser and PIN receiver, or a 1470nm-1570nm (20nm interval) CWDM EML laser and APD receiver with built-in CDR circuits in the receiving and transmitting channels. Maximum rate up to 25.78Gbps.
