Compared with the traditional CFP and CFP2 series, CFP4 Optical module has obvious advantages.
◆ Smaller volume: The volume of CFP4 Optical module is half of that of CFP2 and a quarter of that of CFP. It is the smallest Optical module in the CFP series.
◆ Higher transmission efficiency: The early 100G CFP Optical module uses the 10 * 10 mode to achieve 100G transmission rate through 10 10G channels, while the current 100G CFP4 Optical module uses the 4 * 25 mode to achieve 100G transmission through 4 25G channels, with higher transmission efficiency and stronger stability.
◆ Higher module integration: The integration of CFP2 is twice that of CFP, and the integration of CFP4 is four times that of CFP.
◆ Lower power consumption and cost: CFP4 Optical module is compatible with MSA protocol and supports the same rate as CFP2 and CFP2s. The transmission efficiency is significantly improved, but the power consumption is significantly reduced, only about half of the original, and the system cost is lower than CFP2.
