100G QSFP28 optical modules include SR4, PSM4, LR4, CWDM4, ER4, ZR4, etc. Among them, 100G QSFP28 ZR4 optical modules are mainly used for switches, routers, and long-distance transmission connections in data centers, using 4 channels of 28G NRZ wavelength division multiplexing Technology (LWDM4), is a 4-channel full-duplex transceiver module, mainly used in 100G Ethernet, data center, telecommunications and other scenarios.

In terms of product features, the 100G QSFP28 ZR4 optical module adopts a hot-swappable QSFP28 package, the operating temperature is 0°C-70°C, and the maximum rate can be as high as 103.125Gbps (4x25G NRZ). After cost optimization, it can achieve up to 80km. When the FEC is turned on in the system, the transmission distance through a pair of single-mode fibers can reach up to 90km.

Structurally, the 100G QSFP28 ZR4 optical module is at the transmitting end, and the four-channel serial data is recovered by the CDR and transmitted to the four laser drivers. At the receiving end, the optical signals of 4 channels are amplified by SOA, and then the optical signals are demultiplexed by the integrated optical demultiplexer. The recovery of each optical signal is carried out by the PIN detector, and finally transmitted to the CAUI-4 compliant output driver through the transimpedance amplifier and CDR.

In addition, this optical module is small in size and low in power consumption. The maximum power consumption is less than 6W. It can provide a point-to-point solution in the data center. Its interface is dual LC optical ports, built-in digital diagnosis function, and RoHS environmental protection standards. (Pb-free) and QSFP28 MSA and 100G ZR4 Ethernet standards.
