In recent years, in order to cope with the rapid development of ultra-high definition video, cloud storage, cloud computing and other businesses, the world's major IT giants and telecom operators are actively planning to build large 40G or even 100G data centers. In this trend, the traditional 10G Ethernet obviously can not adapt to the high bandwidth requirements of data centers. In this article, the QSFP+ optical module required for deploying a 40G data center is introduced.
1. 40G QSFP+ SR4 optical module (EQ854X-3MCD01)
The central wavelength is 850nm, MPO/MTP interface, multi-mode optical fiber type, 4-channel 850nm VCSEL array and PIN photodetector array, operating temperature is 0°C ~ 70°C, the maximum transmission distance can reach 100/150 meters through the collocation of multi-mode jumper OM3/OM4, which is often used for interconnection of short-distance devices in data centers.
The 40G QSFP+ SR4 optical module can not only be used for transmission over a 40G network, but also connect to the 10G SFP+ optical module using MPO-LC jumper.
2. 40G QSFP+ PSM4 Optical module (EQ314X-3MCD2)
The central wavelength is 1310nm, MPO 12 core interface, single-mode fiber type, equipped with 4-channel FP laser array and PIN photodetector array, operating temperature is 0°C ~ 70°C, the maximum transmission distance can reach 2 km through single-mode jumper OS2.
3. 40G QSFP+ LX4 Optical module (EQxx4X-3LCD2)
Its working wavelength is 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, 1331nm, if the use of multi-mode OM4 fiber jumper transmission, up to 150 meters; If single-mode optical fiber jumper OS2 is used for transmission, the maximum transmission distance is 2 km.
