Single -mode optical fiber: The single -mode fiber runs at 100m/s or 1g/s data rate, and the transmission distance can reach at least 5km. Under normal circumstances, single -mode optical fiber is used for remote signal transmission;

Multi -mode optical fiber: Multi -mode fiber is mainly used for short -range optical fiber communication, such as in buildings or on campus. When the transmission speed is 100m/s, the transmission distance is 2km.
