The optical module is used for the transmission of optical signals, and the transmission medium is optical fiber. Optical fiber transmission mode has low loss, which can meet long-distance transmission and has strong advantages in long-distance transmission.
H3C equipment supports a variety of optical modules with different specifications and parameters. Users can select appropriate optical modules according to their own needs and transmit data through optical fibers. Common ones are QSFP28, CFP, CFP2, CXP, QSFP+, SFP28, SFP+and SFP. The optical modules supported by H3C devices mainly provide the following transmission rates: 100Gbps, 40Gbps, 25Gbps, 10Gbps, 8Gbps, 4Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 2Gbps, 1Gbps, 622Mbps, 155Mbps, 100Mbps.
The transmission distance of the optical module is divided into short distance and long distance. It is generally believed that the distance of 2km and below is short distance, and 10km is long distance. At present, there are mainly three kinds of central wavelengths of optical modules: 850 nm, 1310 nm and 1550 nm. 850nm band: mostly used for short distance transmission; 1310nm and 1550nm wavebands: mostly used for medium and long distance transmission.
In this paper, professional optical module manufacturers have introduced in detail the QSFP28, QSFP+, SFP28, SFP+, SFP series optical module models commonly used by H3C.
SFP28 optical module
The transmission rate of SFP28 optical module is 25Gbps, and LC connector is used.
1. SFP-25G-SR-MM850 optical module, with 850nm central wavelength, transmits up to 100m through MMF optical fiber.
2. SFP-25G-LR-SM1310 optical module, 1310nm central wavelength, transmits 10km through SMF optical fiber.
